For ten years, Healing Hearts of Families USA has helped working families face the financial challenges of the holiday season by providing timely housing assistance designed to prevent eviction and displacement.

​

Every October, we begin raising funds to help families facing increased expenses for housing, utilities, food, and winter necessities. These additional costs can put working families at risk of falling behind on payments and facing eviction as the new year begins.

​

​At Healing Hearts, we believe that a little financial help at the right time can prevent a family from losing its home.

​

That belief is the heart of our annual HOLIDAYS FROM THE HEART campaign.

RENT DROPS: Preventing Evictions Before They Happen

 

Through our RENT DROPS program, we provide financial assistance toward rent, mortgage, and utility payments to help prevent eviction and housing displacement.

Our approach is simple: 

Healing Hearts pays a portion of the amount owed directly to the landlord or mortgage company and the owner pays the reminder.

​

Our goal is to intervene early enough that parents do not have to miss work to attend eviction court, children do not have to leave their schools, and families do not have to experience the emotional and financial stress of losing their homes.

Our Annual Holiday Giving Season.. Your Gift Makes a Difference 

 

​Each October, we invite individuals, businesses, community organizations, and philanthropic partners to make donations and financial commitments to support our holiday housing assistance efforts. Which starts in November and ends December 31.

 

We begin selecting and assisting eligible families during the week of Thanksgiving.

 

RENT DROPS are provided throughout November and December, and sometimes into January, as available funding permits. Assistance continues until all funds designated for the campaign have been committed to eligible household payments.

 

The number of families we can assist depends on the generosity of our donors and the funds available each year.

 

We encourage donors to give early so that we can identify families, coordinate payments with housing and utility providers, and help prevent financial hardships from escalating during the holiday season.
